Hi John,
Nice work. It would be cool to flesh this out and have more than First/Last name so it could be usable (e.g. add more contact info).
FYI I posted this on ajaxian.com today (http://ajaxian.com/archives/2005/11/ajaxian_contact.html)
Cheers,

Lovely work John and I totally agree with Dion about adding more stuff like full details, contact goups, etc.
Cheers,
Nas

Sweet ... really. But *cough* I couldn't get the layout options to collapse. Maybe deserves a Close button?
cheers

It looks like Ben Forta has a much more fleshed out version of this over at forta.com. Look at the section for CF ISPs.

hi there,
Ben Tremblay: Under Features where I wrote 'double-click title bar to toggle' I meant 'double-click once to open, and again to close'. (edit: The Options dialog is now controled via a link on the Contact Manager interface.)
noname: The contact manager widget is only intended as an AJAX+CF+SQL proof-of-concept illustration, not as competition for fully developed contact managers. Also, the forta work you refer to (http://forta.com/cf/isp/) is Flash-powered, rather than AJAX-powered, and therefore is not an ideal basis for comparison.
Thanks both for your input.

great demo...thanks for sharing!
on the options pop up box...is it possible to have the same 'no past the browser window' as the main contact mgr does? in other words...if a user had opened the contact manager towards top of browser, clicked options link to open default browser setting popup, it gets stuck...if up too high. looks like the contact works a treat if past the browser window. if i overlooked the obvious and i apologize otherwise, you may be interested to fix. again...thanks for sharing

overlooked the somewhat obvious...click on the options link again

You can play with the NOAA service online at:
